I spent a wonderful weekend in the city celebrating one of my wonderful friends from college. She has been through a rough time, so we all decided to make a big weekend to celebrate how awesome she is! It really was great! It was amazing that 14 girls that have moved to all different parts of the country were able to get together for this weekend, and it was LONG overdue. I missed these ladies so much. We were all in a sorority, Delta Gamma, together at IU. It was absolutely a huge part of all of our lives, and it has been an adjustment to go from basically living on top of each other for 3 years to only seeing each other every few months (if we can pull that together!).
A major highlight of the weekend was that I met Giuliana and Bill Rancic in Chicago on Saturday while shopping downtown. We actually had a little conversation, and it was awesome! They were very sweet and seemed genuinely happy that we came up to tell them that we were fans. Bill even told me that I would LOVE living in Lakeview next year! Here's a little picture of them for those of you who aren't sure who I'm talking about.
And the real highlight of the weekend was the the Tortoise and I got to eat a wonderful lunch outside in the beautiful 90 degree weather today! We at at Redmond's in Lakeview. It was great to enjoy the first real summer day with my soon to be husband. 69 days and counting!

Suits for a Tortoise?
So, everything is pretty much done. We have done so much in such a short amount of time, but we are so excited. Of the few things that are left, one of the big ones is the groomsmen/GROOM attire. Mind you, I, being the Hare, have had my dress since the second week were engaged. You will be happy to know that I still LOVE it and that I have never once regretted that decision, so while it may seem impulsive (and probably was), I feel like I made the best possible decision. I still feel like I made that dress up in my mind. It's so cool.
Back to the point. The Tortoise needs to get his suits under control. I think he decided to go with tan suits as opposed to the traditional tuxedo. I am really into this, I think it looks awesome. Since our wedding is outdoors, I think it will look great. While I have been giving him gentle reminders that he is probably going to need to get busy on that, one of his friends did the dirty work for me this weekend. Shawn, one of the groomsmen, met up with me, the Tortoise, and the Tortoise's twin brother, Ryan for drinks on Saturday night. After the Tortoise and I had just discussed suit ideas, Shawn walked in and said, "Dude, when are we going to get suits? I'm in a wedding in September and I got fitted a month ago."
I could have kissed him.
I didn't.
But I could have.
I was also worried that the Tortoise's tendencies would keep him from getting his passport on time. All I have to say is, he got that done, and I couldn't be happier.. I would rather have a groom in sweatpants then a honeymoon all alone.
